Abstract

|
|
The authors report four cases of porencephaly, three of which were surgically treated and one of which was conservatively managed.
The causes of these poreacaphalies were developmental disorder, cerebral vascular malformations and head trauma.
All cases were diagnosed by both brain C-T scan and carotid angiography.
Surgical treatment consisted of ventriculo-peritoneal shunt in two cases and osteoplastic craniotomy in one case.
All patients were discharged with satisfactory improvement.
